Where every graha is right now

Live sidereal positions for all nine grahas, computed from the Swiss Ephemeris on the Lahiri ayanamsa — sign, degree, nakshatra and whether the planet is retrograde, plus the date of its next sign change. These are the same numbers the rest of the site reads from, not a separately maintained table that can drift out of step with the charts.

A transit only means something relative to your Moon

Saturn entering a sign is a fact about the sky; whether it matters to you depends on which house that sign is from your natal Moon. The same ingress is a career transit for one person and a health transit for another. That is why Vedic practice reads gochar from the Moon rather than from the Sun, and why the useful next step is to cast the free chart and see where these positions actually land for you.

Are these positions sidereal or tropical?

Sidereal, using the Lahiri (Chitrapaksha) ayanamsa — the Government of India standard. They will differ by roughly 24° from a Western tropical ephemeris.

What does retrograde actually mean?

That the planet appears to move backwards against the stars as seen from Earth. Classically it intensifies and internalises a planet's significations rather than reversing them, and it is not in itself a misfortune.
