How the weekly reading is actually calculated

In a week the Moon moves through roughly three signs, so no single lunar position defines it. A weekly reading comes instead from the faster planets — Mercury, Venus and the Sun — and from which houses they occupy counted from Aries. Mercury and Venus never stray far from the Sun, so they tend to work the same stretch of your chart at once. Your relationship axis runs Aries–Libra, and a week with several planets sitting in Libra reads very differently from one with them behind you in the twelfth.

Aries — the fixed frame a horoscope is built on

Aries (Mesha) is movable (chara) fire, ruled by Mars, symbolised by the ram and governing the head. Its weekday is Tuesday, the day of Mars; its colour red, its number 9, its classical stone Red Coral (Moonga). Three nakshatras span it — Ashwini (Ketu), Bharani (Venus), Krittika (Sun) — and because Vimshottari runs from the birth nakshatra rather than the sign, two Aries natives born days apart can start life in completely different dasha sequences. Aries (Mesha), the first sign, is ruled by Mars and is movable fire — the pioneer of the zodiac. Natives are bold, energetic, competitive and direct, natural initiators who charge headfirst into new ventures. Courageous and independent, they lead from the front but can be impatient and quick to act. Across a week these are what the moving planets are actually acting on, which is why a Aries week reads differently from Libra's even under identical transits.

The honest limit of a sign horoscope

An Aries horoscope is written for one twelfth of the population. It cannot know your ascendant, which of Mars's or anyone else's dasha you are running, or which of your twelve houses the transiting planets actually fall in — and that last one decides whether a given transit lands on your career or your health. Treat it as the regional forecast: useful for the general weather, silent on whether it rains on your street. Two Aries natives, one born under Ashwini and one under Krittika, are running different dashas today and genuinely have different days. The free chart takes a minute and reads from your own placements instead of from Aries in the abstract.

What to do with it

Keep Tuesday for anything that wants Mars behind it, and use red or the number 9 where a small choice is genuinely free — they cost nothing and they are the classical associations, not a purchase. Red Coral (Moonga) is the stone the texts name for Mars, and it is worth saying plainly that a gem is only advised when Mars is benefic for your ascendant, which a sign page cannot know. The remedy worth more than any of them is knowing which dasha is actually running for you.

Is the Aries weekly horoscope read from my Sun sign or my Moon sign?

From the Moon. Vedic astrology treats the Moon as the mind and reads transits from your janma rashi — the sign the Moon actually occupied at birth. It also uses the sidereal zodiac, currently about 24° from the tropical one Western astrology uses, so a Western Aries Sun is often a Pisces Sun in a Vedic chart. The free chart settles which sign you should be reading.

Why does this differ from the Aries weekly horoscope on other sites?

Two structural reasons rather than a difference of opinion. Most popular horoscopes are written for the Western tropical Sun sign, while this is read from the sidereal Moon sign, and the two sit roughly 24° apart. Beyond that we do not assert a mood: the engine computes the actual positions — including whether the Moon is in Scorpio, your Chandrashtama — and the wording follows them.

How accurate can one weekly horoscope for all of Aries be?

Directionally useful and no more, which is why this page says so rather than dressing it up. One forecast is being shared by a twelfth of the population, with no knowledge of your lagna or your dasha — a Ashwini-born Aries and a Krittika-born Aries are on different Vimshottari clocks entirely. The chart-specific reading is free here precisely because the honest answer is "cast your chart".
